About me

I am currently a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the Interdisciplinary Centre for Security, Reliability and Trust (SnT) at the University of Luxembourg, where I work on data-driven systems in the context of Industry 4.0. Previously, I was a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Center for Responsible AI at New York University. I completed my Ph.D. in Computer Science at NYU Tandon School of Engineering, where I was part of the Visualization, Imaging, and Data Analysis (VIDA) lab led by Prof. Juliana Freire. I also hold an M.S. in Information Engineering from the Federal University of ABC (UFABC) and a B.S. in Computer Science from the Federal University of Amazonas (UFAM), Brazil. My research lies at the intersection of data management, artificial intelligence, and software systems, with a focus on:

  • Ethical and responsible AI
  • Debugging of machine learning pipelines
  • Data debugging and provenance
  • Automated Machine Learning (AutoML)

In parallel with my academic career, I have over a decade of experience as a software engineer in R&D environments, where I worked on building real-world systems across domains such as embedded systems, smart TV technologies, and large-scale data platforms. This combined academic and industrial background shapes my approach to research: I aim to design systems that are both theoretically grounded and practically impactful.
